Historic home reborn as Lawnie's Ice House

DALLAS—A locally based ownership group has rejuvenated a 1,333-square-foot historic house located at 2414 North Henderson Avenue near Belmont Avenue for the location of Lawnie’s, an “old-school” ice house.

Matthew Rosenfeld and Kevin Butkus with Weitzman handled negotiations for the landlord and the ownership group of Matt Peterson, Devan Pharis and Sam Wynne.

The home, built in 1924, now houses the old-school ice house, Lawnie’s, which features an assortment of canned alcohol, basic poured cocktails and pre-packaged food offerings. The home rejuvenation preserved as much of the home’s historic details as possible, including the original pine floors. Lawnie’s also features a large patio and service-window bars. A true southern ice house, Lawnie’s has no walk-in refrigeration system or draft beer offerings. The ownership group is ecstatic to join the neighborhood.
