AUSTIN—Conn’s HomePlus has leased 40,000 square feet of anchor space in Capital Plaza, a regional-draw shopping center located at IH-35 and Cameron Road, for a new Central Austin location.
Matt Epple and Britt Morrison with Weitzman handled negotiations for the shopping center. Sean Murphy with CLD Realty represented the retailer.
At Capital Plaza, Conn’s is the newest anchor to join the center’s strong lineup that includes Target, Ross, Walgreens, Champs, Boot Barn, Foot Locker, K&G Fashion Superstore, Dollar Tree and a number of other retailers, restaurants and services. Capital Plaza, considered the oldest shopping center in Austin, is kept vibrant and active thanks to a major renovation from Weitzman, as well as active management and leasing. The center offers one of the most heavily trafficked sites in Central Austin, serving a trade area with a population of more than 170,000 and a daytime population of more than 210,000 within a three-mile radius. Thanks to its location and tier-A tenancy, the center remains one of Austin’s most successful. Capital Plaza is also home to the Capital Plaza Office Building, a four-story office building with tenancy including Chase Bank and AT&T.
