Professional Background
Daniel J. Mitchell, a commercial real estate professional with more than 50 years of experience, is an Executive Vice President with the San Antonio office of Weitzman. Mitchell handles retail tenant representation, retail project leasing, development consulting and investment sales. Prior to joining Weitzman, Mitchell's 13-year career at Katz & Associates was in the capacity of executive vice president – development and senior vice president for the Midwest region. He also served in executive real estate positions with nationwide duties for Linens ‘n Things, Silo and Highland Superstores. His extensive experience also includes site selection and real estate-related work with McDonald’s Corporation and Wendy’s International. During his career, Mitchell has completed more than 300 restaurant transactions, 12 million square feet of retail transactions and more than 1.5 million square feet of single-tenant and/or retail development transactions. In Texas, he has negotiated transactions exceeding 2 million square feet.
Tenant Representation
Mitchell’s career includes representation of numerous fashion and soft-goods retailers. On the fashion, apparel and soft goods segment, he has represented such leading names as Saks Off 5th, Salons by JC, bevello, The Avenue, Loehmann’s, Shoe Carnival, Foot Locker, Lids, Villa, Carter’s Children’s Wear, Galyan’s Sporting Goods, Western Dental, Craft Works Restaurant & Breweries and others. In partnership with Weitzman’s David Nicolson, he currently serves as the national broker for Salons by JC, Cycle Bar and Liquid Nutrition.

Education
Mitchell received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
